Technique Manufacturing Corporation (Pty) Ltd,based in Pinetown, near Durban, South Africa, is a privately owned, proudly South African, 51% Black Industrialist company that supplies high volume, quality automotive components and sub-assemblies to first and second-tier OEM markets.
Technique’s forte is progressive die stamping of steel, aluminium and stainless steel parts; Mig & Tig robot welding solutions; resistance welding of sub-assemblies; orbital riveting and general finished part assembly/packaging, as well as leading high tech turnkey solutions for R&D, component design, die design and manufacture, process confirmation, testing and industrialisation to PPAP approval.
The company offers a wide range of technologies and manufacturing processes to meet current automotive design specifications. Machine capacities for pressed parts range from 40-400 tonne mechanical and hydraulic C Frame presses,to 400 tonne H Frame precision auto coil progression presses.
The largest tool size that can be accommodated is 3400mm x 1300mm x 600mm x 6 tonnes.
The company has a well-equipped, modern Tool room with CNC machining facilities, as well as Wire EDM and CAD/CAM solids design software used for simulation, strip layout, blank development, tool design and efficient programming in tool manufacturing.
Adoption and continuous improvement of globally proven Toyota TPS production systems facilitates lean manufacturing and gives Technique a competitive edge. Delivering up to 25000 parts a day since January 2016 via Kanban to Toyota South Africa Manufacturing for the Hilux, Fortuner and Corolla models, Technique prides itself on its annual quality (<20ppm) and delivery records, with which no other local component supplier can compete. Similar quality and delivery results are evident with second-tier supply.
